Frequently Asked Questions

Each distribution partner uses different schedules for client assistance. You will want to ask the distribution partner with which you work about how often you may pick up pet food.

Each distribution partner has different rules about what type of paperwork or identification you need to supply to get assistance. You will want to speak with the distribution partner about their rules.

Each distribution partner has different rules about where you need to live to get assistance. You will want to speak with the distribution partner about their rules. Community Food Bank in Fort Worth does NOT have any restrictions about where you must live.

All of our distribution partners serve many, many deserving clients every day. To ensure fairness and that their supply of pet food goes to the most people possible, they portion out the pet food. If you feel that you have a special case and need more food than they provided to you, please contact the distribution partner and ask to speak to someone who can help with this issue. DF2FM does not tell our distribution partners how much pet food to give each client.

We give what we have. We cannot guarantee any brand or type of pet food. All of our food is donated, and it comes from many places and in many brands.

Don't Forget to Feed Me does not deliver pet food to clients. We simply do not have the resources, volunteers, staff, funding, transportation, etc. to do this.

Each of our distribution partners has their own rules about picking up pet food for someone else. You will want to contact the distribution partner with which you are working to ask about their rules.

DF2FM's mission is to supply pet food to local food pantries in support of pet owners. By providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial times, we offer an option to surrendering – or worse, abandoning – a family pet. While we understand the need of pet rescues for pet food, we do not have the resources to supply pet food to all the local rescues and shelters.

DF2FM does not handle pet rescues or adoptions. If you are having financial difficulties which are causing you to consider giving up your pet because you can't feed it, please reach out to one of our distribution partners listed above.

We encourage you to adopt a pet instead of buying one! However, DF2FM does not handle pet rescues or adoptions. We recommend one of the following:

  • Humane Society of North Texas
  • City of Fort Worth Animal Care and Control

We encourage you to get your pet vaccinated and spayed or neutered! However, DF2FM does not handle these procedures. We recommend one of the following:

  • Spay Neuter Network
  • TCAP
  • Vaccination Station
